Built in 1949, good bones, and wiring from another era. We updated the electrical first, then worked through the interior cosmetics room by room so the house looks as current as it now runs. A 3 bed, 2 bath with 1,908 square feet of living space.

A house wired in the 1940s was never built for how people live now. So the work started behind the walls with the electrical, and the finishes came after, so nothing had to be opened back up.

In an older house the order matters. Update the electrical before the walls get their final coat, and nobody has to cut into fresh work later.
